Competitive Gaming Curriculum
I love expressive competitive games, and enjoy talking/theorizing about their design as well. These are some of my eSports credentials, usually achieved under the tag "kodo":

Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne
I was solid at Warcraft III, having reached ~top 50 in the Azeroth ladder circa 2013 by playing Random race. I was very far from a pro, but this was the first game I tried to improve at beyond casual play.

Team Fortress 2
I played competitive 6v6 Team Fortress 2 at the highest level in South America, participating and getting 1st place in the LBTF2 (latin american TF2 league) "Elite" division under several different teams. I mained Scout and Soldier. For proof of this one, look no further than the official medals displayed on my Steam profile showcase. Can't trade those!

Overwatch

Later, I teamed up with some friends from TF2 and played Overwatch competitively for its first year. I won a couple of tournaments, and our team eventually became the 2nd best team in South America (for a short while, anyway). I mained DPS, specializing in heroes like McCree, Genji, Hanzo, Roadhog and Mei. I was widely considered the best Mei in SA. In Ranked, I also got a top 500 rating in the 4 seasons I was competitively active in (seasons 1-4). Unfortunately, since the launch of Overwatch 2, Overwatch 1 Ranked stats and leaderboards cannot be accessed anymore.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Lastly, I played Super Smash Bros. Melee in a competitive setting, winning tournaments both in Brazil (local) and SA (netplay). I mained Marth, but was proficient at multiple characters. I was last ranked #3 in Brazil, and #13 in South America. I even built my own ultra-comfortable custom Arduino controller to play the game (pictured below in all its glory)!
Others
I've played all kinds of games on and off. I've gotten to the final rank (Masters) in Legends of Runeterra multiple times (card games are EZ). I've also gotten to the final rank in Street Fighter 6 using Deejay - my current MR is 1744, which puts me among the top 5000 players in the world!

It's got mechanical keyboard switches and custom code that is within tournament regulation. Some still call cheats...
Currently, I'm not really active in any competitive games. But if I take interest in anything, I can usually learn and climb very quickly, since I have played pretty much every genre at a competent level by now. Honestly, I've never really aspired to live off of playing anything professionally - as soon as I start caring a little too much, the magic goes away and the game becomes a chore. Not that any of the games I like ever paid any decent money anyway (Overwatch is probably the one that got closest). I just enjoy learning great games that allow me to be creative (often through movement). As long as it doesn't involve driving a car, it's likely I'll carry (or smoke) you at any game you choose!
